Hello

I’m Barbara Lazarony, and you can call me Blaze.

After a successful 20-year career in retail, I achieved what the world says is the peak of success. From humble beginnings on an Ohio farm to managing $2.5B in sales in 42 stores across the United States, all from my swanky office atop Market Street in San Francisco. Life back then felt complete!

But beneath the gloss of this glittering lifestyle was a ticking time bomb, and that came to fruition when I received the devastating news that I had thyroid cancer in 2003. That's when it became clear what was truly important, so with newfound perspective and clarity; I resigned from my job and decided to discover who I was beyond my job title.

Unfortunately, more health issues were ahead; post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety & obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) became unwelcome companions on my challenging but ultimately rewarding journey. I was guided by modern medicine, holistic treatments, and two invaluable guides: a therapist & coach.

CANCER WAS THE SPARK I NEEDED TO IGNITE THE FIRE THAT CHANGED MY LIFE. –BLAZE LAZARONY

It all started with that spark – that became an undeniable fire that drove me forward. I became an Advanced Certified Integral Coach and started my own business. After eighteen years of coaching and helping others, I felt something was still missing. So at fifty-three, I embarked on a new journey...grad school!

Fast-forward to earning my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, my enhanced skillset has allowed me to help people in a way that is in ultimate alignment with me as a therapist/counselor and coach.

Main Areas of Focus

As an Affair Recovery Therapist, I specialize in helping couples heal from the aftermath of infidelity. My goal is to provide my clients with compassionate and knowledgeable support throughout their journey of recovering from an affair. I understand the complex emotions that can come with such a traumatic experience and have dedicated my career to helping couples work through these feelings together.

I use evidence-based approaches for affair recovery to foster understanding and trust between partners. By taking a holistic approach to healing, I will help you identify patterns in relationships from your past that may be contributing to difficulty in the present while also creating new strategies for communication and connection moving forward. My ultimate goal is to ensure both partners feel safe and heard as they move through this challenging process.

Couples Therapy & Coaching:

I believe relationships are at the heart of life, yet many couples struggle with communication, healthy boundaries, sexual intimacy, infidelity, money, value differences, and life transitions. It is not uncommon for unresolved issues from childhood or traumatic experiences to cause further friction in partnerships.

And that's where I come in: helping you gain a new perspective on your relationship allows you to understand each other better and start working towards the connection you have always wanted. Change is challenging; however, I can help you work toward the connection and trust that desire. With my professional guidance, I will provide an understanding environment so that both partners can process their needs and feelings while developing the necessary skills to build trust and safety within their partnership.

I can help you navigate the bumpy road of relationships with a much deeper understanding; after all, I have forty years of relationship experience with my partner and the clinical experience I bring into sessions. For couples looking for guidance to create or restore connection, safety, and trust in their relationship, I am here to help. Together we will work on identifying your core needs and gaining insight into yourself and your partner within the context of the relationship. With this knowledge, you will gain new skills to create a loving and secure bond that will last a lifetime!

PTSD & Trauma Treatment:

As an advanced certified trauma therapist with expertise in Brainspotting, I specialize in helping couples break through traumatic experiences to reconnect with each other on a deeper level. Using this evidence-based modality, I aim to create a safe space where couples can process their feelings and emotions while fostering understanding, healing, and growth. Brainspotting identifies sources of emotional pain stored within the body and brain, allowing individuals to release it from the deeper regions of the brain. Bilateral sound further enhances this process, which creates deep direct containment for both partners.

By providing couples with the tools they need to manage and heal their pain, I am dedicated to helping them build solid foundations and healthier futures together. My goal is to empower you both to become resilient so that you can work through any issues you may be facing to restore trust and connection between one another. With my expertise in trauma therapy, I am committed to helping you overcome PTSD and other related issues so your relationship can thrive.  Together we will create a space where healing can take place, foster growth and understanding for a more harmonious future, and bring peace of mind and heart to your life and relationships.

Depression & Anxiety in Relationships:

Depression can majorly impact all aspects of our lives, including our relationships. It may be the result of unresolved trauma or complex events that we haven't yet been able to process and move past. Even if we feel like it's just an indication that we lack the willpower to solve issues in our relationship, the truth is often much deeper than that. Depression and anxiety are usually symptoms of an internal emptiness caused by loss or unresolved trauma.

Unfortunately, this emptiness can also spill over into our relationships, leading to feelings of abandonment and helplessness from our partners. At the same time, those struggling with depression often experience guilt about their struggle - which can only make things worse for themselves and their partner.

I can help break this cycle. I will work with you and your partner to gain insight into the distress affecting your relationship, examine how the relationship's dynamic may contribute to feeling stuck, and finally, build a shared plan for healing together. You deserve to start working towards restoring balance in your relationship and moving past the depression. Let's work together to make things better.

Spirituality Coaching:

Spirituality can be a powerful force that ties couples together – strengthening their connection and deepening their bond. Whether it’s through shared meditations or exploring different religious practices and traditions together, spirituality can help bring two people closer to one another both emotionally and spiritually.

I can help you safely explore new ways of connecting on a deeper level to understand better and appreciate each other's beliefs. I aim to provide a safe and comfortable environment for couples to explore their faith, traditions, and spiritual paths without fear of judgment.

Let me help guide you toward a more spiritual connection with your partner. Together we can create an atmosphere where both of your beliefs are respected, honored, and explored openly – helping you deepen the bonds between you both in a meaningful way.

Please know that I will only discuss spiritual matters if you express interest. Spiritual matters are never forced upon any clients.
